Boston's biopharma comeback accelerated hard in 2026: Massachusetts biopharma companies raised $3.45B in VC in the first half of the year alone, up 25% year-over-year and the strongest opening half since 2023, and eight Massachusetts biopharma companies went public in that same half — matching the combined 2024-and-2025 total. On the software side, Underscore VC runs a $140M fund exclusively for earliest-stage companies based in or moving to Boston, while MassRobotics just picked its second accelerator cohort — 10 startups out of 130+ applicants, each getting a $100K non-dilutive grant. Local employers are hiring into this too: Klaviyo, headquartered in the Seaport, posted 46.5% more job listings in 2026 than the year before.
