Cloud Engineering
in Boston

Production cloud infra without the DevOps headcount. CI/CD, observability, secrets management, on-call.

Most early-stage SaaS doesn't need a DevOps hire. It needs someone who has set up production CI/CD, structured logging, secrets management, and on-call escalation enough times to get it right the first time. We build that foundation on Vercel, AWS, or GCP — whatever fits your stack and budget — then hand back a runbook so your engineers can ship without page duty becoming a full-time job.

How this works

One AI-native engineer.
The output of a team.

One senior engineer plus AI agents now ships cloud engineering that used to need a four-person team. Same code quality, half the cost, three-week timelines instead of three months. Built for pre-seed to Series A founders in Boston who need to ship before the next round closes.

The local read

Why cloud engineering is hard in Boston

Boston founders have access to the best deep-tech talent in the country and almost none of it is hireable at seed stage. Biotechs pay above market for ML engineers. Cambridge robotics shops pay close to that for ROS 2 specialists. The local agency option is mostly enterprise consulting with multi-quarter contracts.

We're not enterprise consulting. One senior engineer owns the build, Eastern Time, overlap with your MIT advisors and Boston-based investors. FHIR or HL7 for healthtech. PyTorch and Hugging Face for ML features. Next.js for the SaaS layer. Flat-price quote in 24 hours. Code in your GitHub from commit one.

Hiring one senior engineer here is a ~$290K year-one outlay and a 60–90 day search. Our cloud engineering engagement starts at $4,000 with a first deploy in 7–10 days.

What you actually get

Concrete deliverables.
Live in 7–10 days.

No discovery phase that bills for itself. No Figma-only delivery. Every item below is something you can open, click, and ship to a user.

01

CI/CD pipeline with preview deploys, test gating, and rollback on failure

02

Observability: Sentry for errors, structured logs to a real human inbox, basic dashboards

03

Secrets in a vault (1Password, Doppler, or AWS Secrets Manager), rotated and audited

04

Runbook: what the on-call does at 2am, escalation paths, common failure recipes

Why us

Why founders in Boston pick us for this

01

Production-first defaults — every config we ship has survived at least one real incident

02

Stack-pragmatic — we don't push Kubernetes when Vercel Functions are the right answer

03

Flat-price means we want to ship the simplest working thing, not the most billable thing

04

Handover documents are written for your engineers, not for our retention

FAQ

Common questions about cloud engineering in Boston

Do you do Kubernetes?

+
We can, but we usually don't. For 90 percent of early-stage SaaS, Vercel + a managed Postgres is faster, cheaper, and more reliable than running k8s. We only set up k8s when there's a real reason — multi-region failover, custom GPU workloads, or compliance with a hard requirement.

Can you migrate us off Heroku / DigitalOcean / Render?

+
Yes. Most migrations are 3–7 days depending on the database. We do the cutover with zero downtime, leaving the old stack warm for 72 hours in case we need to roll back.

Do you support our existing AWS account?

+
Yes — we work in your cloud, not ours. We add the minimum IAM permissions to do the work, and revoke them on handover.

What about SOC 2 / ISO?

+
We can prepare your infra for SOC 2 Type 1 (audit logs, encryption at rest, IAM hygiene). Full compliance program (policies, evidence collection) is out of scope — we'd refer you to Vanta or Drata.

Who owns the code?

+
You do, from commit one. The repository is created in your GitHub org. Infrastructure is provisioned in your cloud account. We don't host your stack on ours and we don't lock you in.
